Dan's Favorite Place in the World

We had the opportunity to go to New Mexico this summer before Dan and the kids started school. We had been looking forward to it all summer! Finally, it came and we had such a good time! It was a 12 hour drive and we were worried that Orson would cry the whole time in his car seat. So Dan gave him a blessing and he did SO good in the car! I was so thankful, he didn't cry the whole time. He fussed a bit but he was happy that we were there with him. I forgot to take picture of the car ride but it went great! When we were there Melinda threw them a 50th wedding anniversary party. And like Melinda, she went to infinity and beyond. Grandma and Grandpa Kilby had a great time and it was a great success. As well it should be for how much time we all spent to get it perfect.

This is Grandma and Grandpa Kilby. Dan's favorite people ever.

This is the cake Melinda made. I helped with the frosting :)

Dan's family and some cousins.

Melinda's family except for Peggy who couldn't come.

This is Grandpa joking around, like usual :)

Mom actually sat down and ate! We had to prove it or no one would believe it!

While everyone cleaned up I was dancing with Orson who wouldn't let me put him down.

Orson hanging out with uncle Michael

Dan insisted he needed to go fishing and it was much too hot for Orson and I so we stayed home. But look what he brought back. He was so proud of his catfish and he butchered it which took a while (because he needed my help to remember how) and then he stuck it in some batter and fried it. YUM! (it was actually kind of bland because he didn't have all the spices he wanted.) It was a great catch though, good job honey!

Grandma with Orson, she loves him!

Rascal, Dan's favorite jack russell

The three Edwards. Grandpa Edward, Daniel Edward, and Orson Edward. This is the Edward that Dan and Orson are named after.

Yay family!

Dan is a different person in New Mexico. He's happy, optimistic, and doesn't let anything him down. We were sad to go home but as is our life. Orson was good on the way home too but not a good as the trip down. Plus, Oscar was ready for us to come home :)
